Coast Cleaners damaged a near $1000 suit I borrowed from my cousin! It was relatively new, and they put a pea size hole in the coat! Granted my calm demeanor was reciprocated when I complained about the damage, but the owner, called David for simplicity sake--his given Indian name is difficult to pronounce--, is a completely unreasonable. He argued that I put the hole in the suit, that my "car door put the hole in the suit," or the chair I sat in did, despite telling him I examined the suit prior to bringing it to his store and there was no damage, and despite my showing him his wire metal hangers have a very sharp hook, which felt and appeared as if it was cut using a pliers' wire cutter, leaving a very sharp end. He told me to prove to him that it was not damaged prior to the clean, and that I cannot prove to him that his cleaners did it.

Ridiculous experience to say the least, especially when he's arguing completely illogically simply to absolve himself from any wrongdoing. He at times borderline insinuated that I was scamming him! He said his two businesses has never had an issue with damaging clothes. David, the owner, lies. To the contrary, I'm not alone.

On Yelp, another customer named Bettie posted a review stating her silk dress was ripped by Coast Cleaners. When I initially brought up this incident, he tried to play dumb by saying he has no idea what I'm talking about. Hilariously, after lengthy, multiple discussions, he slipped and started talking about it, recounting specific instances from that incident. At that moment, I said "I thought there is no Bettie." He stood silent for a few seconds, knowing he slipped. Again, David will lie. And Bettie is just one example that is reported; there could be more.

David offered to repair the suit, which my brother who accompanied me foolishly accepted. They did a shoddy job at best. And after the cleaning, the suit looks worst than ever, with some threads of the fabric sticking out, as if someone took a needle and plucked out a few threads. They probably did it, to make the suit appear more used in preparation for litigation. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a cleaners. What's worst is he refused to refund me the money for the cleaning. I have uploaded a couple of public photos on Google review: one is the sleeve of the coat that was "repaired" and the other is the plastic garment bag on the backside that was nearly torn by something sharp--luckily it did not pierce the bag and tear another hole.

To sum, BEWARE!!! To anyone who cares about your clothes, DO NOT go to Coast Cleaners. They are completely oblivious to the concept of accountability. You cannot, you mustn't, promote businesses that do not foster accountability. BEWARE!
